MUSIC RECORDING
The Shelter is a great place to record your songs, especially with our recent addition of some lovely outboard pre-amps and compressors. Enjoy the comfort of full studio lockout which includes the lounge and kitchen area, plus a room setup that allows a variety of approaches, including jumping straight into our live room and just going for it!
LIVE ROOM
The Red Room, our main live room has been acoustically treated to allow us to mic up and capture a great sounding live recording, capturing the energy of a band playing together at once. A very cost effective way for a well rehearsed band to get a great sounding demo or release.
CONTROL ROOM
Our Control Room is the hub of our studio.
Filled with a mixture of analog and digital recording equipment, we are able to record up to 48 tracks simultaneously, and move audio digitally around our facility with Dante.

At the heart of our recording eco-system is the Apogee Ensemble Thunderbolt Audio Interface, featuring Apogee's industry leading clocking and convertors. We also have an Allen & Heath SQ5 digital mixing console, capable of sending audio and receiving audio to and from any of our rooms via Dante.
​
Our control room also contains our video broadcast recording, switching and streaming suite. Based around a Blackmagic Design Atem TV Studio switcher, and VMix, we can produce broadcast quality video for live streaming or pre-recorded content. We have a dedicated Green Screen Studio, which can be used in conjunction with the live room to produce multi-camera, multi location video content.
BUILDING A SOUND
The Multitrack recording from a live setup can be added to with overdubs. To build an even cleaner sound, we can move the amplifiers from the live room into the green room - our iso space, so that the drums can be captured cleanly, but the feel benefits from keeping all the players in the live room together.

THE OVERDUB PROCESS
​
While it can be a more time consuming approach, layering the individual instruments one by one leads to a slick sounding recording, and allows each sound to be manipulated individually within the mix. Further layering of takes helps to bring real depth to a band's sound.

Multitrack Recording and Mixing
Work with our studio engineers to record and mix your songs. Pro tools and Logic suites, 24 simultaneous channels, overdubbing and split room tracking. The entire studio space is yours.

All recording session bookings include setup time. 8 Hr block includes 1/2 hr break for engineer, 12 Hr block includes 2 x 1/2 hr breaks for engineer.
